Salt air
Aluminum cannot rust
Bay of Fundy fog and salt air in Saint John, St. Andrews and St. Martins, and salt spray on the Northumberland Strait at Shediac: salt is what wears out steel roofing once its coating is breached. Aluminum reacts with oxygen to form a thin, tough oxide layer that seals the metal against further corrosion and re-forms if scratched. There is no steel core in an Interlock® panel to rust, on the coast or inland.
